Majstorovic '15 signs with Club Baloncesto Marbella
Luka Majestorovic '15 will be playing basketball for Club Baloncesto Marbella in Spain.
Luka Majstorovic ‘15 recently signed a deal to continue his basketball career with Club Baloncesto Marbella in Spain.
Home for a few weeks, Luka took some time to discuss his journey from Rabun Gap to professional basketball. Luka came to Rabun Gap in 2013 at the start of his junior year. A native of Serbia, he said he chose Rabun Gap for its diversity and family feel. After a successful two years at Rabun Gap, Luka signed to play at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University where he received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in civil engineering all while being a stand out player for the Eagles. Often asked why he didn’t focus solely on basketball, Luka credits the time management skills and work ethic Rabun Gap gave him.
Now, as an adult getting ready to start his professional career, he can still remember Coach Cox and Coach Nowack challenging him to stay focused, work hard, and to continuously set goals for himself. Luka said making it to the pros is a lot like building a house, you have to have a good foundation, and go one step at a time. His advice to others looking to play at the next level is to “Never stop learning.”
