Athletics

Athletic Facilities

Rabun Gap offers a picturesque athletic complex surrounded by mountains for competition and play. Our fields and courts are professionally maintained and make our space one of the best sports facilities in the region.

Zavala Family Stadium

The Zavala Family Stadium opened in fall 2020. Home to soccer, football, track & field, and lacrosse, the Stadium Complex seats 800 and offers an exciting environment to cheer on the Eagles. The field is fully lighted.
Baseball Complex

Our newly-renovated baseball complex features backstop netting, a new scoreboard, field enhancements, dugouts, and a press box. The baseball complex also includes our indoor facility with batting cages.
Andrew Ritchie Gymnasium

The historic Andrew Ritchie Gymnasium, named in honor of school founder Andrew Ritchie, is the primary space for our basketball, volleyball, and wrestling programs. The gym includes renovated locker rooms and our athletic training center.
Donald Arbitter Tennis Courts

Our tennis facility has four courts and an elevated area for tennis fans to view all of the courts.
OC Skinner Natatorium

The Natatorium houses our regulation-size indoor swimming pool. Our Eagles swim team uses the Natatorium for meets and practices.
Practice Fields

Several practice fields across campus are available for soccer, lacrosse, and football. Our main practice field is located adjacent to the stadium and features a fully netted fence.
Cross Country Trail

Our cross country trail winds throughout the area around Indian Lake and is a challenging, scenic route for runners.
Indoor Weight Training Room

Our indoor training facility includes a weight room and extra gym space.

Visiting Teams

Welcome to Rabun Gap! Visiting teams should arrive to campus at the main entrance off Highway 441 South. Proceed to the gym. Teams can unload in front of the Andrew Ritchie Gymnasium. School buses will be directed to park in our overflow parking lot near the historic barn. For questions about arriving on campus or for special accomodations, please contact the Athletic Office at 706-746-7467.

Parking for Athletic Events

Parking for fans is available on campus in our lot across from the Andrew Ritchie Gymnasium. Please do not park in the bus lot in front of our Lower School building. Overflow parking is available on the hill near our historic barn. Parking for the Middle School baseball field and cross country meets are located on the south end of campus. Follow marked signs.
