Visual arts classes at Rabun Gap are designed to develop the terminology, techniques, and creative processes of visual artists. Our Lower School arts program inspires creativity, hands-on learning, and artistic expression. As students move into our Middle School, visual art classes are offered as electives designed to hone skills and develop technique. The Upper School visual arts classes are housed on the third floor of our A&T Building and allow the students to begin to develop their own style and expression as they focus on hands-on, project-based learning. The three large art studios are equipped with electric wheels, printing presses, light tables, and supplies. Students also have access to the kiln room, darkroom, and Mac Lab for classes. Gallery spaces throughout the building offer opportunities to view both student artwork and professional works from regional artists.
Visual arts classes are designed for all skill levels and offer challenging projects, allowing students to problem solve creatively and begin to develop a personal vision.
