Tanea Hibler joins Rabun Gap as Upper School Science Program as Department Chair

Tanea Hibler will lead our Upper School science program as department chair, bringing extensive experience in teaching science at boarding and international schools. Ms. Hibler comes to Rabun Gap from Phillips Exeter Academy, one of the top boarding schools in the country, where she taught biology and advised many student groups.

With a Master's in Teaching Earth Science from Wright State University and a Master's in Secondary Education from Arizona State University, Ms. Hibler’s academic background is robust. She has also contributed significantly to the professional development of educators as a Biology Teacher Trainer and Board Member at the Arizona Modeling Teachers Association. Her proficiency with educational technologies and fluency in Spanish further enhance her ability to connect with and inspire students.

Ms. Hibler joins the community with her husband, Rasheed (RJ) Hibler. Mr. Hibler is a seasoned educator and coach who has a proven track record of fostering student engagement and athletic development. He will join our football coaching staff and serve as a substitute teacher at Rabun Gap. The Hiblers will live on campus and work in the dorms.
