Eagles fall to 1-4

Rabun Gap hosted Christ School on Friday in a key NCISAA Division II match-up.  The Greenies were a huge favorite coming into the game.  The Eagles battled for most of the first half.  Christ School took a 7-0 lead late in the first quarter on a 5 yard run.  The Eagles then marched 81 yards on 15 plays to tie the game at 7 with three minutes left in the first half.  However, Christ School scored twice in the last two minutes to take a 21-7 lead into the locker room.  The Eagles held Christ School on their first two possessions of the second half, but eventually the Greenies found the end zone three more times to make it 40-7.  Rabun Gap scored twice late on a Glenn Pearce 44 yard run and a 34 yard TD pass from Viljami Rautavirta to Bailey McBride.  Pearce ended with 83 yards rushing on 13 carries.  McBride carried it 22 times for 79 yards.  Rautavirta completed 4 of 9 passes for 73 yards.  Rabun Gap (1-4) travels to Asheville School next Friday for a 4:30pm kickoff.
