Hope Stockel joins as Strength & Conditioning Coach
Hope Stockel joins our athletic department as Strength and Conditioning Coach. She will work with our student-athletes and teach weight training classes at the Upper School. Coach Stockel will offer a girls' weight training class this year.
Coach Stockel competed for Team USA in Olympic weightlifting at the world championships in 2011, 2012, and 2015. She holds a Level 1 Coaches Certification with USA Weightlifting and comes to Rabun Gap from the University of Georgia, where she was a strength and conditioning intern. She has also worked as the wellness coordinator at Waterfall Club near Lake Burton.
Coach Stockel earned an M.S. in Exercise Science and a B.S. in Management of Health and Fitness, both from Northern Michigan University. She will live off-campus and is getting married in October.
