Girls take 1st in 200 Free and 200 Medley

On Friday, December 15th, Rabun Gap hosted Cherokee County and Highlands swim team. The girl's team was led by the team of Ariana Duverge, Gavron Campbell, Cindy Shen, and Dagny Johnson who won the 200 Medley. The girls followed up with another win in the 200 Free Relay. The team of Campbell, Johnson, Alyssa Paynter, and Duverge won by over 10 seconds. 

The Eagles had some great swims in the 200 Free. Duverge won the girl's event, dropping 5.10 seconds from her previous best time, to make her 5th state cut of the season. Paynter placed 2nd in the 200, dropping 7.59 seconds from her previous best. Shen won the 400 Free, dropping 33.57 seconds from her previous best time. Shen went on to win the 100 Breast later in the meet.  

The Eagles had several notable time drops. Maddie Stowe dropped 3.36 seconds in the 50 Freestyle to move up to 6th place. Hayden Turner dropped 5.94 seconds in the 50 Free.  Sunshine Zhang dropped 8.41 second in the 100 Back.
