JV Soccer wins 3-2 in a wet one against Bob Jones Academy

The JV Boys Soccer Rabun Gap Eagles hosted the Bob Jones Academy Lions on a rainy Friday afternoon, scoring their third win of the season 3-2.
The JV Boys Soccer Rabun Gap Eagles welcomed the Bob Jones Academy Lions on a rainy Friday afternoon.  Rabun Gap entered the game 2-6-1 and not having played a game for more than a week.

The Eagles pounced on the Lions from the start of the match.  Steven Koster scored within the game's opening minute.  Takeyo Poitier and Koster added two more quick goals, and the Eagles found themselves with a sudden 3 goal lead.  Despite the quick deficit, the Lions fought back and grabbed a goal.  The half ended with the hosts winning 3-1.

The start of the second half saw the Lions getting more into the game.  Eventually, a ball into the Eagle defensive penalty area saw Koster direct the ball down with his body.  The referee deemed Koster to have handled the ball in the area in the process of directing it downwards, thus awarding the Lions a penalty.  BJA converted, clawing their way back into the game.  The Eagles generated some chances after their lead was reduced to 1 goal, but never put in a fourth tally.  BJA had a great chance to equalize in the last 5 minutes, but could not put the opportunity away.  The match ended at 3-2 in favor of the home team, allowing the Eagles to claim their third victory of the year.
